Two years of investigation by dozens of people between four continents. Hundreds of witnesses, thousands of pages of documents, even secret. A film about what lies behind the 21 "revolutions" in the last 14 years.
Libya, March 2011. With Security Council Resolution 1973, NATO authorizes a "no-fly zone" over the country to protect the civilian population from fighting between rebel forces and forces loyal to Gaddafi. Egypt, Tunisia, Serbia, Venezuela, Georgia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Myanmar, Iran, Thailand, and many other countries are at the center of uprisings and revolutions. A single common thread ties them together: different, often distant countries, theaters pervaded by symbols, slogans, tactics, and mass strategies that are very similar, often identical. Why do these revolutions occur? What is the role of the many Western associations in these events? Who finances them, and who has an interest in influencing the political mechanisms of our planet? What role do the mass media and social networks play? Who are the actors who shape public opinion?
Thirty-four revolutions in twenty-three years. Dictatorial regimes overthrown, corrupt leaders ousted, a wave of democracy is blowing across the world, especially in the Middle East and the countries of the former Soviet Union. But has the social situation in these countries really improved? Have people achieved the guarantee of respect for civil rights? And, finally, why have so many people suddenly felt the need for democracy and transparency, while the West, which has historically opposed revolutionary movements, has sided with them so uncritically?
An investigative film, the fruit of over three years of work, in dozens of countries across four continents. An investigation that has demonstrated how behind these revolutions lies a vast organizational machine, funded by governments and multinationals and implemented by several non-governmental organizations, aimed at the indefinite expansion of the model of globalization opposed by the G8 demonstrators in Genoa. An organizational machine revolving around a single goal: to win over public opinion in the country in revolt and in the West, all through the unscrupulous use of social networks and a skillful use of the information machine.
For those who want to understand what happened in Ukraine, Hong Kong, and Brazil. For those who want to discover why civil wars are raging in Syria and Libya. For those who want to understand how the United States first supported the Egyptian revolution, handing the country over to Islamic fundamentalists, and then did everything it could to overthrow that regime.
Revolution's Factory is a film (shot in twenty countries on four different continents) that reveals disturbing behind-the-scenes details and explains why today the Islamic world is making the West pay dearly for its interference in Middle Eastern geopolitics.
