Plot
The ninety-minute film combines never-before-seen footage of Springsteen and the E Street Band shot between 1976 and 1978 with new interviews with Springsteen, E Street Band members, and others closely involved in the making of the record.

Main documentary plus two extras:

1. SONGS FROM THE PROMISE
Filmed before an audience of approximately sixty fans in December 2010, in Asbury Park, NJ's historic carousel house, this one-time concert event brought Springsteen and members of the E Street Band lineup together to play never-before-performed tracks from The Promise. Five tracks, as webcast that December:

2. A CONVERSATION WITH HIS FANS
A 22-minute program originally aired on VH1 Classic and Paladaia. The focus is question-and-answer session before a small audience in the studios of Sirius XM's E Street Radio channel on November 15, 2010. Hosted by Dave Marsh, with Springsteen discussing the writing and recording of Darkness on the Edge of Town. Footage from the box set (2009 Paramount Theater concert and rare archival footage from 1976-1978) is interspersed.
