In a series of sublimely lit tableaux, Robert Wilson stages his biography of Marina Abramovic, creating a magical reality that comes to us in hypnotic slow motion. Abramovic plays the role of her own mother, portraying her as a wicked witch that poisoned Abramovic' youth, while Willem Dafoe delivers a spell-binding performance as a crazed, puppet-like narrator and Antony’s vulnerable voice combines with the haunting music to put text, staging, image and sound in perfect balance.
