Shadow of a Doubt
A bored young woman, a teen living in Santa Rosa, California, Charlotte "Charlie" Newton (Wright), is frustrated because nothing seems to be happening in her life and that of her family. Then, she receives wonderful news: her uncle (for whom she was named), Charlie Oakley (Cotten), her mother's brother, is arriving for a visit. But Uncle Charlie may not be the man he seems to be.

Trama:
Charlotte "Charlie" Newton è annoiata dalla sua tranquilla vita in casa con i genitori e la sorella minore. Desidera che accada qualcosa di emozionante e sa esattamente di cosa hanno bisogno: una visita del suo sofisticato zio Charlie Oakley, grande viaggiatore e fratello minore di sua madre. Immaginate la sua gioia quando, all'improvviso, ricevono un telegramma dallo zio Charlie che annuncia la sua visita. Charlie Oakley suscita grande scalpore e conquista il cuore delle signore del circolo, così come quello del presidente della banca dove lavora il cognato. La giovane Charlie inizia a notare strani comportamenti da parte sua, come ritagliare dal giornale locale un articolo su un uomo che sposa e poi uccide ricche vedove. Quando due sconosciuti si presentano chiedendo informazioni su di lui, inizia a immaginare il peggio per il suo amato zio Charlie.
