Aydin, een gepensioneerde acteur, baat een klein hotel uit in centraal Anatolië samen met zijn vrouw Nihal, waarvan hij emotioneel afstandelijk is, en zijn zus Necla, die nog steeds last heeft van haar recente echtscheiding. In de winter wordt de steppe bedekt met sneeuw en worden gevoelens van wrok en wrevel aangewakkerd.
