Biomusician Susan Alexjander made Sequencia in collaboration with biologist Dr. David Deamer. The piece for synth, tabla, cello, violin and voice was composed and tuned according to the movements of the molecules and atoms that make up human DNA. The album was recorded on Earth Day, 1990.
The tones you hear on this recording are derived from DNA, the central molecule of all life on Earth. They are audible vibrations which correspond to light vibrations found in the four bases of DNA; adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine.
