Denemarken is in rep en roer wanneer bekend wordt dat de regering een cruciale verkiezingsbelofte heeft gebroken: namelijk om niet naar olie te boren in het mooie maar kwetsbare Arctische gebied. De mogelijke gevolgen zijn niet te overzien en journaliste Mia gaat het gevecht aan door middel van een debat met de verantwoordelijken. Maar Rasmus, een geofysicus die net terugkeert uit het Arctische gebied, voelt de noodzaak om over te gaan tot extreme maatregelen. Uitgerust met een geweer gijzelt hij niet alleen de regering, maar heel Kopenhagen. Hij eist dat het boren wordt stopgezet of hij zal dood en verderf zaaien.

Denmark is in turmoil as it becomes known that the government has broken a
crucial election promise not to extract oil in the beautiful and vulnerable
Arctic. The potential consequences are incalculable and journalist Julie
takes up the battle through a debate with those responsible. But Rasmus, a
geophycisist who has just returned from the Arctic, feels a need to resort
to extreme methods. Equipped with a gun, he not only takes the government
hostage, but the whole of Copenhagen as well. His demand is that the
drilling must stop or he will start killing people.
